Re: Hi-res DSO imaging with live-stacked "subs"?
Hi, a very interesting post on CN and a very good image. My analysis would be that there are two significant parts of the approach 1) An accurate guiding system based on the 10s images rather than using a separate guide camera. SharpCap doesn't have any equivalent functionality to that (for example ...

Re: Sync & ReCenter
Hi Randall,
no worries - let me know if you work out any more info and I will look at trying to make that change that will halve the error.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Timelapse stops capturing images
Hi, SharpCap tries to automatically lower the displayed frame rate when the PC is under heavy load to prioritize getting frames from the camera and saving them rather than displaying them on screen. The target is to keep the CPU usage of the display system below 75% of one CPU core and the display u...

Re: Ha image optimization with pressure-tuners
Hi, I guess you could switch between the histogram showing (which gives you the average image brightness, so helps you adjust to the maximum brightness). Then once you have done that, switch to one of the focus tools for solar images (contrast detection, etc) and note down the average focus score, t...

Re: SharpCap freezes when trying to connect to camera
Hi, OK, thanks for trying the 32 bit version -it's stuck at the same place as the 64 bit version - basically the first line of code in SharpCap that tries to start talking to the webcam and it is freezing inside the Windows code that SharpCap uses to initialize the camera. Can you check your windows...

Re: Using Pixinsight or Siril Photometric Color Corrections in SC Live Stack
Hi, OK, so you are taking an unstretched image out of SharpCap into PI/Siril, which is good, and means that you may be able to use the values suggested by PI/Siril in SharpCap with some thought. What I'm not clear about is whether the R/G = 0.64 from PI means that PI found that you needed to adjust ...

Re: Updating to latest version
Hi, good to hear that the manual upgrade worked - sounds like you had some other window trying to jump in front of the upgrade window whenever it came to the front. Unfortunately auto-upgrade is one of those things that is very hard to diagnose and fix issues with - it works for more than 99% of peo...

Re: Timelapse stops capturing images
Hi, thanks for posting the logs - I can see in the log that there is something odd happening at the time your short SER file is created - basically SharpCap has internally decided that it has captured enough frames when it really hasn't. That stops it from adding new frames to the file, so it never ...

Re: Using Pixinsight or Siril Photometric Color Corrections in SC Live Stack
Hi, this is quite a tricky topic, because lots of things are going on... Thinking about the data going into the image, there are two sources of colour offsets that need to be corrected in different ways 1) Different sensitivities of the colour channels of a colour camera (often green is most sensiti...

Re: SharpCap freezes when trying to connect to camera
Hi, thanks for posting the log - I can see clearly from it that the program is stuck waiting for the camera code itself to initialize. There's sadly nothing I can do about a freeze like that in the SharpCap code, but a possible thing to try would be to download and install the 32 bit version of Shar...
