How can I configure timelapse settings to extend the resulting GIF animation?
I've collected up to 15 and 20 minutes of video but the amount of rotation is very slight and the GIF is 4MB. I imagine I need to take a longer video to see more movement but the amount of data collected in the SER file becomes HUGE after 15 minutes and the resulting GIF is 5MB; yet showing an imperceivable rotation; which is understandable since Jupiter's rotation is very little in 15 minutes time.

Can anyone offer improved settings to allow longer recording times without creating HUGE files?

Hi Mike,

the GIF creation takes between 120 and 150 frames from the full timelapse SER file (evenly spaced out) and makes the GIF from those. If you let the timelapse run for only 15 or 20 minutes then you won't get much rotation at all, but let it run an hour or so and you will see enough to be noticeable. If you are worried about the size of the main timelapse SER file, turn down the frequency with which images are saved to the timelapse to maybe every 10-15 seconds or so. At 10 second intervals the main timelapse will get 360 frames per hour.
