These objects are now lost to me or not in good positions for this year. After various attempts at processing these are the final versions. All processed in PixInsight using NarrowbandNormalisation (cheers Nick) and run through Starfixer at https://www.starfixer.org/. Short on data due to the weather, ~3h capture for each object.

Hi Dave,
Nice shots, it's a bleeding infuriating hobby as the weather never plays ball even if you get a clear night and get all excited it usually is then blowing a gale which buggers it up anyway or the moon is sat directly were you want to image
.

Thanks Nick. Pacman & the Crescent are far better than my previous attempts.
Since astro dark returned (53°N) at the beginning of August I have managed 6h lunar and 11h deep sky imaging. The weather has been quite poor. I have just purchased an Astrozap solar filter (Baader film) and the last few days have been cloudy as well. This has left plenty of time to work on my processing techniques.

Same here hence the delve / dabble into pixinsight although as usual with astrophotography it's going to cost money

Spent 40m with the NarrowbandNormalisation video from the developers at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6se3b1ZotMc
plus a few hours of experimentation.
Left hand image is from above, right hand image is the latest attempt.
I think I managed more of the fainter detail and learned that SII boost is no substitute for SII data.

The quest for image improvement continues. This is a rework of the HOO variant of the Cygnus Wall.
What had been annoying were the blue/green halos around stars produced when using HOO with ChannelCombination in PixInsight.
Research on the internet suggested that optics were the cause or using filters made by Astrodon or Chroma might fix it (expensive!).
What I did notice was the stars in the Ha stack were tighter and fewer. I built the final image by processing HOO_starless (using NarrowbandNormalisation) and creating an Ha_starsonly image. These were combined using PixelMath and no more green stars with halos.
The result is a big improvement in colour from the HOO image in post #1, also more faint detail being visible, higher resolution image here https://www.astrobin.com/6l2lsw/

A reprocess of the Late Summer Objects using the documentation in viewtopic.php?t=9159&start=10 post #15. Hopefully better noise handling now, although the objects really need more data. In the absence of RGB stars I used the stars from the Ha stacks.
