Sharpcap do not do image from camera but detect the model...

#1

Post by JeanMarioCharest »

I'm having a problem with the software.

My cameras aren't producing any images, but the program detects the type of camera being used.

I installed SharpCap on my new computer.

Fire Capture correctly detects and displays the image from my ASI294MC PRO, but SharpCap doesn't.

On my old computer, SharpCap detects the camera model and displays the image as well.

The cameras are an SV105C and an SV305C PRO.

Do they work correctly with SharpCap on my old computer?

They work about once out of 20 attempts...

This problem is strange, isn't it?

Hi,

for the ZWO camera to work correctly you will need to install the ZWO Camera driver (first item on this page - https://www.zwoastro.com/software/) and similarly for the SV305 you will need to install the SVBony system driver (https://www.svbony.com/pages/support-software-driver/ - click on 'Windows' then the 4th item down). Mind you, if you are already seeing the cameras listed in SharpCap you may already have these, but do make sure you are using the latest version, not an older version that you downloaded some time ago.

Issues with the camera being detected but no images are often related to USB data transfer - there is a post here on things that you can try in that sort of situation to resolve the issue : viewtopic.php?f=18&t=349&p=1556#p1556 . Worth giving those a try, particularly testing initially with a short single cable and turning down the USB speed to see if that resolves the problem.

cheers,

Robin
