Histogram brain optimum exposure unity gain

#1

Post by Oberon510 »

Hi,

I am using the latest version of SC 4.1 and I noticed recently that the histogram brain optimum exposure measurement for Unity Gain is using unity gain of 0 for my ASI6200 whereas previously it was using 100 (which is correct for my camera). Has anything changed in SC for this to occur?

Thanks,
Ken

Hi,

I think that gain zero is correct for that camera - it never achieves unity gain with the biggest value being about 0.8e/ADU at gain=0, so SharpCap tries to get as close as possible to unity gain, which is gain zero.

You can see the e/ADU chart for the camera on the ZWOAstro page for that model - https://www.zwoastro.com/product/asi6200/

cheers,

Robin

Thanks Robin - not sure what I was looking at previously (maybe HCG cut in)
