Hi,
I have a bunch of SH2 sites that I want to bulk add to the GOTO catalog. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks,
Ken

Re: Add entries to the GOTO Catalog
I saw the post of putting a file in a certain format into the APPDATA directory. I suppose my new question is whether there is a database somewhere in that format I can copy rather than individually converting each entry to decimal format from another hr/min, etc format?
Thanks,
Ken

Re: Add entries to the GOTO Catalog
Hi Ken,
some people have created and shared catalog files for particular target lists - see this post which links to the CloudyNights forum post and the actual shared folder : viewtopic.php?p=44253#p44253
Unfortunately if nothing in that list helps then you would have to do the co-ordinate conversion from DD MM SS to decimal degrees (decimal hours for RA). I expect it could be done in Excel by splitting the input co-ordinates into columns on the space character, then writing a formula to add the degrees column + 1/60 of the minutes + 1/3600 of the seconds.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Add entries to the GOTO Catalog
Hello,
Robin ... you forget that the coordinates can be in decimal or DD MM SS.
Look at the message: viewtopic.php?p=44252#p44252

Re: Add entries to the GOTO Catalog
Note that the line could be:
HD000319|A1V|Miles|00 07 46.89955|-22 30 30.8173|5.942|||
or
HD000319|A1V|Miles|00:07:46.89955|-22:30:30.8173|5.942|||
It works with or without the ":"
HD000319|A1V|Miles|00 07 46.89955|-22 30 30.8173|5.942|||
or
