ToupTek IMX294C flickering image

#1

Post by Ilmen63 »

Hi,
My ToupTek IMX294C shows a strange behaviour with short exposure times. It jumps back and forth between normal and a kind of shifted image as shown in the attached files. This only happens up to 200 ms, above that it is normal. I thought it was a USB problem and tried 4 different cables and another computer without success. This only occurs in SharpCap (current and older versions) with the ToupTek native driver, not with the Ascom driver. And it does not occur with Toupsky, nor with other image software. Only with Sharpcap native driver.
Any ideas?
Dirk.

Hi,

a couple of things to try here. On your side, you could try adjusting the 'USB Speed' setting in SharpCap to see if that helps resolve the issue. I've seen issues like this on some other brands of camera with similar settings set to too high a value, so it's possible that might help.

On my side, I can see that there is a new update to the ToupTek SDK released just yesterday, so it's possible it may contain bug fixes that might be relevant - I will try to get that into the next SharpCap update.

cheers,

Robin

Hello,

thanks for the reply. I have already tried to vary the USB speed, without success. I find it strange that it only happens below 200 ms, from 201 ms it no longer happens. Maybe the new driver version will help, thank you for looking at it.

Best
Dirk
