Hello Robin,
I am trying to set up a capture interval using “Sequencer” which basically mimics the basic “Start Capture” function for CV observations. For example: “Sequence Length 300”; “Interval between Captures: 5:00”; to capture 1 frame every 5 minutes for 300 frames. My plan is to embed these steps within the 'Stop running these steps when <Distance> degrees from the meridian' step to account for the meridian flip. I’ve been attempting to use the “Run a periodic task called '<Task Name>' every <Interval> seconds” without any luck. Any ideas?
Love your app.
Thanks!
John

Re: Sequencer question
Hi John,
the 'periodic task' function is designed to slip in an action like dithering or refocusing between other activities - they can only activate at certain points during the execution of a sequence, which are mainly:
* between one step and the next
* between frames when capturing still frames
They also won't stop a sequence from finishing, so they are not really the ideal way to do this.
What you might want is something like this
That sequence will capture a single frame every 5 minutes (300s) for 300 repetitions. Using the (fairly new) step that pads out the time taken by the contained steps to a known length should get the timings pretty much spot on for 1 frame every 5 minutes. You could also do a capture + delay in the loop, but the delay would need adjusting if your exposure changed.
Hope this helps,
Robin

Code: Select all

PAD DURATION TO 300
CAPTURE 1 FRAMES REQUIREGUIDING False
END PAD DURATION

Re: Sequencer question
Thanks Robin! I think this will do it.
