Orion / Running Man Stacked + Processed in Affinity Photo

Orion / Running Man Stacked + Processed in Affinity Photo

Hi,
Sorry for the double post of this image but this was a test with the latest version of Affinity photo as it now has an Astrophotography option that can stack and use all the calibration data within the software. This is the same image as I posted earlier in the month of Orion with the image on the left being the one processed entirely within Affinity photo the only other software used was SharpCap to capture the original data.

The Data used is the same set as used for the original posted image that was APP+Affinity Photo, this is my first attempt at stacking in Affinity so I will improve with practice :D and once I know what I am doing the entire processing chain once in Affinity was 32bit for the image work only down sample once save to upload to flicker.

That is interesting. I got an E mail from Affinity advertising the Astronomical application of the software but hadn't followed it up.

The main differences seems to be just in the final colour and level of exposure or gamma. I assume that you couldif you wish have made choices in Affinity of colour palette etc to make it similar to the APP output? Is APP like PixInsight in that it provides tools to adjust star colour in a standard way versus internal and external standards?

Hi Tim,
The Affinity image was just the first go with the Affinity Photo new Astrophotography persona, I used Sigma Clip in the test for stacking but should really have used median for the number of frames I had so think might try it again when I have a moment. The image is a little dark but I am still finding my feet in Affinity but there is no reason that it cannot look the same as the APP image and think I might have neutralised a bit of nebulosity with the background removal filter which I need to get better with as well :D . Once I master the stretching and masking to preserve the detail in the core to avoid burnout which is one of the areas that has a lot more detail in the Affinity image.

APP has a star colour adjustment tool, the other option that I might try is the photometric colour matching in Siril which I could do after editing the image in Affinity.
