Deep Sky Mosaic using Astro Pixel Processor

#1

Post by turfpit »

I was trying to fit M81 and M82 into the field of view of my Vixen 81sd + Vixen 0.67x reducer. The targets did not frame well - with both images at opposite edges of the FOV. This led me to trying a deep sky mosaic. 10 minutes with this tutorial from Sara Wager got me started using the APP built-in mosaic facility. https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/how ... ara-wager/

The result of 2 panes, each of 100x90s using a luminance filter. M82 was not centred to allow the triangle of overlapping stars to line up.

Gorgeous, Dave! I can't wait for the Technicolor version.

Thanks Brian. I don't expect the journey to be easy.
