ADC alignment using a substitute colour camera

#1

Post by philwest558 »

Hi I am mono imaging planets. I would like to use the sharpcap ADC alignment tool. I have a colour camera that I can swap in just for the alignment process. But it has different pixel sizes. Will it make much difference to the alignment procedure once I swap back to my smaller pixel mono thanks.

Hi,

that shouldn't be a problem - with the colour camera you are measuring/adjusting the alignment between the different wavelengths of light - once that is done and they are all aligned then the switch to the mono camera sensor (which will be in the exact same position as the colour one to still be in focus) will still have the light aligned.

cheers,

Robin
