The original Point Grey FLIR Blackfly can be used with imageJ, but the "new" Blackfly-S is completely different (though it looks the same with the same IMX249 CMOS chip). The FLIR application SpinView is designed for realtime viewing, so I had trouble capturing long exposures. Finally I found that FireCapture will work with the Blackfly-S, but only with the old FLIR Spinnaker SDK 2.3.0.77 _x64.exe.
I have documented this since I have seen that others have had similar problems.

Unfortunately, there is no ASCOM driver for FLIR cameras, since they are of limited use for astronomy.

Re: Point Grey FLIR Blackfly image capture
Hi,
yes, SharpCap is the same - support for 'FlyCapture' SDK based cameras (older ones), but no support for 'Spinnaker' SDK cameras. I think there is no real chance that I will ever add Spinnaker SDK support - as you say these cameras are hardly ever used for astronomy now, so the potential audience is very narrow.
cheers,
Robin
