Any ideas why after i do a focus scan the software doesn’t move to best focus?

Also clicking the goto best focus fails to do anything and i can’t access the drop down menu next to best focus
I have move to best focus after focus scan is done ticked in options

Hi,

look at the graph that gets drawn of the focus data - for the 'goto best position' to work, there needs to be a green curve overlaid on the graph as a best fit to the data (see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#Automa ... 20Scanning, but for deep sky the curve has a dip in the middle not a peak).

If no curve is being drawn it means that SharpCap is not able to see a clear pattern in the focus data - this can mean that you are not scanning a wide enough range for the focus to change significantly, or that the scan finishes too close to the best focus position on either one or the other side of focus. Sharing a screenshot of what your graph looks like after the scan would help give more detailed info.

cheers,

Robin
