Live stacking savinf multiple copies of the same sub.

This is a weird one. For some reason live stacking has recently been saving multiple copies of the same sub. For example, during a recent session I was taking 3min subs, the "camera settings" text file (attached) at the end of the session shows that 44 subs of 180s were stacked which ties up with the length of the session and the info I saw on the screen, However 394 files were saved in the results folder, sometimes with the correct timing but often many files within the same 180s period. This is also shown in the Stacklog text file. The attached screenshot shows the first 9 minutes of the session with 21 files saved. This issue started about 2 months ago and I've not been able to find out what causes it. The "extra" files appear to be the same in terms of numbers and roundness of stars, brightness, FWHM etc as the file that is recorded at the correct timing. the number of extra files varies from zero up to about 20. My SharpCap version is up to date and I have tried a fresh install with no success. Does anyone have any idea what is happening and how I can fix it.

Hi,

this is the result of the 'Save raw frames' option being set to 'all', which means that everything coming from the camera during the stacking session is saved. This includes the shorter exposures taken while dithering as well as the full length exposures being used for stacking.

The thing to do is to change this option back to saving only the 'stacked' frames, or those captured except while dithering - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#Left%20Panel
