I would like to prevent "Start Capture" from saving the last completed frame, or the in progress frame. I would like it to start a new frame and save that one. I remember that it used to behave that way, and if you wanted it to save the most recent completed frame, or the in progress frame you had to use the "Snapshot" button, but now it seems this is the default behavior. Is there any way to change the behavior of the "Start Capture" window to always take a new frame?
Thanks!
Rose

Re: Disable Automatic "Snapshot" Mode
Hi Rose,
when the camera is running in video mode, starting a capture will always save the next frame to complete, which could have started before you pressed the 'start capture' button. In fact, depending on the brand of camera, there may be a further delay due to frames being buffered so that you end up seeing as 'new' the frame 1 or 2 frames ago.
In order to change this behaviour, you need to put SharpCap into 'Still Camera Mode' by turning off the 'Live View' option in the toolbar. In this mode, the camera will only take images on request, rather than all the time, and any captures that you start will trigger the camera to start taking new frames. There's some documentation about the two modes and how they work here - https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#Live%20View - also note that some types of camera do not support still mode.
cheers,
Robin
