ASI676MM camera not recognized

#1

Post by scorpion136 »

My new ASI676MM camera is visible in Device Manager in Imaging Devices, but Sharpcap 4.1 pro (latest version) is not seeing it. I have downloaded the very latest version of ASIStudio and ASI camera drivers (as of today) and rebooted but no luck. Windows 11. thanks for checking!

Hi,

can I just check that you have the very latest version from our downloads page at https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/downloads ? If you have that then you should have the latest ZWO camera support and it should work fine. On the other hand, if you are up-to-date just via the 'auto update' function in SharpCap then you will have a bit of an older version that won't have the latest ZWO camera support, and that could well be your problem.

cheers,

Robin

Well that was it! I thought I had the latest version of SharpCap but it was not. Downloading the latest got the camera recognized. Thank you.

No worries, the 'auto update' version is always a fairly recent version but never the very latest version - this avoids people getting updates ever week or so and getting annoyed by them, and also allows me to make sure that there are no unexpected problems in the versions that I do make available via auto-update.

cheers,

Robin
