Incorrect/different sensor size on QHY-600M

When I shoot images in SharpCap (mostly darks and biases), I get an image size of 9576 x 6388, but when I shoot my lights in Voyager, they are 9600 x 6422. I am guessing this difference is related to the "Remove overscan" option, which I keep UNchecked in the QHY native setup dialog. In Voyager, I can access that dialog, but cannot figure out how to get that in SharpCap.

I have a ton of lights already shot at 9600x6422, so I need to be able to shoot calibration frames at that resolution, and I can't figure out how to get SharpCap to do that.

Hello Dave,

That is annoying with QHY pro camera ... they change the maximum size depending if you capture in still mode or video mode.
Try in SharpCap to capture in the other mode that you used.

I always capture in still mode; I don't think I've ever use video except for playing with. In the QHY native configuration UI, there is an option to remove overscan area, but I can't seem to get to that through SharpCap, only Voyager.

The issue in that post seems to be the opposite of what I'm seeing/looking for. My stills that I shoot in Voyager have the larger resolution, and I can see the black band on the left and bottom of the images when I enlarge them enough. But the stills I shoot in SharpCap (Biases and Darks most recently) have the smaller (by a few pixels) resolution. It appears that you are somehow applying the Remove Overscan Area option, while Voyager does not do so.

ah, OK. I do try to disable the overscan (only seems to work/be supported on some models). If this is happening then you would find a line with the text 'Asking QHY camera to ignore overscan area' in the SharpCap log after opening the camera.

The QHY native setup dialog has a checkbox to remove (or not) the overscan area. I might suggest that you honor that setting if you can figure out where it is stored in the system. Voyager has a camera setup button that allows me to call up that dialog, but I can't see anything like that in SharpCap.

OK, thanks for the log - I guess I could probably add a control on the right to have overscan on/off - that's the SharpCap way of dealing with this sort of thing. I will have to check my QHY cameras to see if I have one with the ignore overscan available (it all becomes rather difficult to add this sort of thing if I can't properly test it out and check that all the possibile states and transitions work OK).
