Recently, I have been seeing ads from different camera companies at the bottom right-hand corner of the SharpCap screen, which are annoying, as I have to move the relevant control sliders up to see the one I want to use. I am a "pro" license holder, and I thought these annoying ads should not appear on my screen. Could it be because I have some wrong settings? I do not recall seeing these ads in the past. Please help.
Thanks for your support.

Re: Advertisement removal, please help
Hi Prasad,
I expect that your Pro license has expired (if you have purchased a new subscription, maybe you haven't entered the new code).
With a valid SharpCap Pro license installed, you will never see these adverts. Without the license, they will show but are supposed to disappear if the space is needed to show more camera controls. I can see in the latest code that the auto-disappear is not working as it should (it does happen if you switch the view on the right into multi-column and back out again). I will have a look at fixing whatever bug is causing the auto-disappear to fail.
cheers,
Robin

Oh, OK. I was under the impression that the license gets updated automatically because I paid for it some time ago. After reading your reply, I searched for the email, copied the license key, and before I even pasted the key, SharpCap gave a pop-up saying it had found the license key, and asked if I wanted to use it. It got updated once I clicked the OK button. I did not have to paste the new license key.
Thanks, anyway.

Re: Advertisement removal, please help
Hi,
I did think about having the license update automatically, but the problem with that is that if someone breaks the rules and shares their license, it would update automatically for all the people who have the copies that they shouldn't have, and I didn't like that idea.
So, I kept it needing a manual update on renewal - at least that way if someone cheats the system they have to keep cheating actively year after year.
cheers,
Robin

Of course, I understand the reasoning. I have been in similar situations before when I was employed. (I am now retired). What surprised me was that I had not faced this situation in the past. I assume this requirement of manual updating of the license key is a new rule. No problem, I will remember it next time.
Thanks, and please keep the good work going. I love using SharpCap for my SHG work.
