I know it is possible to run a ZWO174mm & a ZWO432mm at the same time on one pc with Sharpcap open twice (one camera on each) and they record data for Solar animations separate to one another. But if you try to connect two ZWO 432mm cameras all sorts of issues/conflicts arise even though 2 instances of Sharp are open and running each camera. Is there a way around this?
Thanks
Peter

Re: Using 2 cameras with Sharpcap open twice
Hi Peter,
running SharpCap twice and choosing each camera in one copy of SharpCap should all work fine (I don't have the same ZWO cameras as you, but did try with two different models of ZWO cameras). If you try to open the same camera in SharpCap that is already open in another SharpCap (or any other application), horrible things tend to happen, but I don't think that's what you are doing.
The other thing I can think of is that maybe you have set up SharpCap to talk to other hardware - filter wheel, focuser, GOTO mount, etc? It may be that both copies of SharpCap are trying to connect to a piece of hardware that doesn't support multiple connections. In that case you can turn off the option to auto-connect to hardware in the SharpCap hardware settings to stop the connection to filter wheel/focuser/etc happening when you open the camera and then do that manually.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Using 2 cameras with Sharpcap open twice
Hello everyone,
personally, when I open 2 pages and use 2 cameras, the files tend to not save.
It would be great to have the option to connect 2 cameras simultaneously, regardless of their brands, and to use this with dual screens.
Please Robin, work to provide us with this option on the PRO version. It would even deserve a few more coins per year.
