ROI selection does not account for image being flipped in "Preprocessing".
You select one thing and ROI selects completely different region.

Re: ROI selection if image flipped
Hi,
I *think* this is behaving as expected - the option to flip in the preprocessing controls isn't linked to the camera itself - it's something applied in SharpCap as part of the image processing after capture and before stacking or display. Because of that, I wouldn't expect that control to have any effect on how the camera ROI itself works. If you put a camera into ROI mode and then drag the selected area to the bottom right of the sensor, then you get an image taken from the bottom right. Appying the 'Flip after dark/flat' control flips that image taken from the bottom right - it doesn't change the orientation of the ROI layout and cause the top left of the sensor to be used instead.
This contrasts with what happens on models of camera that have their own (built into the camera or camera SDK) flip functionality - those flip options are applied in the camera, so you would expect everything to do with the camera (including the ROI) to flip around too.
cheers,
Robin

Re: ROI selection if image flipped
I understand _why_ it behaves like it does but it's confusing if you are viewing flipped image and try to select ROI _on that flipped image_.
I suppose another course of action would be to show the image in original orientation when selecting region.
But lesson learned, I'll remember to turn it off next time.

Hi,
Oh, I see now - you are referring to the 'Select ROI' feature rather than just moving the ROI around using the Pan/Tilt - that would be more annoying and it makes more sense to fix that as it is a purely user-interface function that then internally sets the camera pan/tilt settings.
cheers,
Robin

Re: ROI selection if image flipped
Exactly.
Also while at it - there's a one more thing around that feature.
When you use ROI selection (and don't apply it, just trigger showing the rectangle) and subsequently select for example "average 5 frames" from FX menu it is being applied to the ROI selection rectangle. And that's fine I guess. But when you apply ROI, then return to the full resolution and then use FX function - same thing happens. Red rectangle magically pops up. Looks like the button next to FX options is being left toggled after applying ROI.

Hi,
yep, I see that too - it's not the end of the world as it is perfectly valid to have the ROI box turned on for many of those tools in the FX menu, and you can turn it off again by toggling the button, but I will have a look at auto-resetting it back.
cheers,
Robin
