Hi Robin,
I do eaa photography and have recently started saving files as “with adjustments “ . I can do more processing in Siril with the 16 bits. To make things easier I tried to auto save both “exactly on screen “ and “ with adjustments “ when closing live stack. That way I can decide which to use. The program won’t save both when closing. Only the 16 bit is saved. I assume the file names are the same so they over write. I tried adding a {BitDepth} to file names so each file would be different name. Didn’t work. Any ideas. I can still save one during stacking then close stack to get other. Just wondering if I’m missing something

Re: File naming live stacking
Hi George,
the first place to check is the right-hand-most 'settings' tab of the live stacking area - that now contains a row of check boxes that allow you to choose which types of auto-save are performed when you reset or close the stack. I suspect that just ticking the appropriate ones there would be the fix you are looking it.
It's just possible that file names being the same could cause the problem, but recent versions of SharpCap should show an error notification if that happens (they will not overwrite an existing file and show an error in an orange bar at the top if an overwrite is attempted). Since you haven't mentioned seeing that sort of orange error pop up, I think it is unlikely that overwriting is the issue.
Hope this helps,
Robin

If I check the file type boxes in the livestack settings box for both “exactly as seen” and “ with adjustments “ only the “with adjustments “ is saved when closing livestack window. Is it possible to save both formats automatically when closing? Now that I think about it the file names are not the same the 8bit file has text added onto the end.

Hi,
oops, you are quite right - a logic error in the auto save meant that the 'exactly as seen' save was being switched off of the wrong option, so might or might not happen depending on what the value of that other option was
I will fix for the next update.
cheers,
Robin
