Hello Robin,
Can you tune a little bit the font size of the annotation in the exported image ?
Here with the full detector (1920x1200):
And here after using a ROI (800x600):
Ideally would be to have the same scale between the pixel and the font size ... independent of the ROI size.
So that the annotation in PNG image has the same size as the annotation on the camera live image.
Regards,
Jean-Francois

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation
Hello,
One point more ...
The file name coming from the function "SharpCap.DeepSkyAnnotation.SaveWithAnnotations()" is not correct.
... WithDisplayStretch ... or ... WithAnnotations. Note that the camera settings files has WithDisplayStretch.

Jean-Francois

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation
Hi Jean-Francois,
the scaling of the font with the image size is necesarry at the large end of the image range - if you have a 6000x4000 resolution and you add annotations without scaling then they look tiny when the image is viewed full screen. I guess there could be a minimum font size at the smaller end to prevent it going too small though. When displayed on screen in SharpCap, it's easier as the magnification is known, so the font can be scaled sensibly based on the magnification, but for a saved file you have to guess at the future magnification (my guess is that they will be viewed full screen).
Will have a look at the file naming - hadn't spotted that.

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation
Hello Robin,
Hmm ... it is maybe not exactly what you want ... but here the result after several ROI and rescaling the image to the same size as the full detector.
Also it simulates the view displayed on the full screen. The zoom factor all the time on "Auto" (with a 4K monitor, it could be different on a smaller monitor).
The annotations on the full detector image are OK. But all other ROI are too small.
At the end the characters are no more visible.
Here the view in SharpCap at 100% zoom factor for ROI=640x480:
The user can modify the font size directly in the Deep Sky Annotations Results window (in addition the cross size).
I guess that the best is to have the font size in the PNG image "as seen" on the live image in SharpCap.
I remark that the font size stays constant on the monitor when a different zoom factor is selected.
But it changes relative to the image pixel scale.
So ideally ... the annotation size in the exported image should be the same as seen on the monitor.
In other words ... what you get is what you see (WYSIWYG).
