Touptek AAF - automatic focuser failed to report settled state

#1

Post by matthias23042 »

Hi,

I am using a Touptek AAF autofocusser with the Touptek ASCOM driver. Sharpcap connects to the AAF without issue and the manual coarse/fine focus steps via the Sharpcap user interface work as expected. However, when I initiate a focus scan from the Multistar FWHM tool, the scan is cancelled with the following message: ‘Aborting focuser scan because the focuser failed to report a settled state after reaching target, waiting settling time and an additional 5s’.

Is this a bug in the AAF support, or a user error?

Kind regards,
Matthias

Hi Matthias,

this sounds very like an issue that was in a version of SharpCap from about 3 or 4 weeks back that affected people with a time zone of UTC+XX hours (ie time zones east of GMT). It's now fixed, so if you download the very latest version of SharpCap from our downloads page and try again you should be fine. Note that there are newer versions on the download page than the one you will get via the 'auto update' in SharpCap itself.

If you are already on the very latest version, or the problem still happens after updating, do let me know.

cheers,

Robin
