Two monitor setting

#1

Post by Yt52nwb »

Hello.
When using the two monitor setting, is there a way to display two identical images on the second monitor? My reason for asking is, I have a small 5.5” display that I would like to use with a VR style headset. I am not wanting to create a 3D view, just an individual image for each eye. I am evaluating a software called “IShadow” which allows you to configure numerous ways to setup your display. When identifying the displays, the main screen 1 shows the camera view and the control panel, the second monitor identifies as 2 and 3, perfect, but the image spans across both displays as one image and not two individual images. Could SC be setup to display in this way? Dave

Hi Dave,

there's nothing in SharpCap that is going to help put two copies of the image on the left/right hand sides of the display, sorry.

It sounds as though the iShadow software divides up your real monitors into a larger number of virtual monitors, and it also sounds like SharpCap might be ignoring that and displaying accross the whole real monitor. Even if it did spot the virtual monitor, it would only display the image on one of them, since it only runs one additional 'second monitor' image.

One thing that occurs to me (no idea if this would work or not) is that with two displays, you can setup windows to either use them as separate displays or to mirror the same image on both. Now, if you have 3 monitors, is it still just that one or the other choice, or could you set Windows up to have one screen on one monitor and then two copies of the second screen, on each of the other two monitors? If that was possible then Windows would be basically duplicating the SharpCap second monitor display onto two monitors, which might be close to what you want?

cheers,

Robin
