Re: Platesolve 3 (Planewave)?
Hi Matt,
it might be worth resetting your PlateSolve3 configuration - rename the PlateSolve.cfg file in the PlateSolve3.80 folder, then run PlateSolve3.80 and set both directories in the 'File->Configure Directory' window (the top one should be the Kepler subfolder, the bottom one UD Catalog subfolder). I just set up on a clear machine and setting those two directories was all that was needed for the Plate Solve Test from SharpCap to work.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Platesolve 3 (Planewave)?
I've started with a fresh .cfg with no improvement. I tried to remove SC and reinstall, but
it came up remembering my setup so if you can let me know how to completely remove SC
for a fresh install that would help.
Cheers,
Matt

Re: Platesolve 3 (Planewave)?
Hi,
you can wipe the SharpCap settings back to default - there are buttons to do that (as well as export/import the settings) at the bottom of the settings window.
Just had one more look at the log you sent as I am not expecting the SharpCap settings to have much effect on this. What I noticed this time that I didn't the last time is that your temp directory has a space in it, since your user directory is "C:\Users\FirstName LastName". I think that might be the problem - it looks like I am not putting double quotes around the filename, so it will be interpreted wrongly by PlateSolve3.
I will fix that for the next update, but if you want you could make a new user on your PC with a user directory with no space in it - I think that PlateSolve3 would probably work for that user.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Platesolve 3 (Planewave)?
That did it. PS3 works under the new account.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Platesolve 3 (Planewave)?
Hi,
looks like the problem is related to the use of the ',' character in the Windows settings as the decimal separator. That means that PlateSolve3 is writing lines like this in its output
whereas SharpCap is expecting
Selecting the fourth number in the list of values gives 212 (number of stars) in the second examply, but 23129715..... (the fractional bit of some other value) in the first.
I will have to try to write a workaround - it's trickier than usual because the ',' character is also being used to separate the items in the list
cheers,
Robin

Hi,
that should certainly get you back in action quickly
I will do the fix in SharpCap too which will help people who can't change their Windows settings so easily.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Platesolve 3 (Planewave)?
I'll confirm that PS3 is working with SharpCap. No problem with Sharpsolve either, even at long focal lengths.
There is a newer version of Platesolve3, which does not work with SharpCap. It's much faster with 64-bit support. - https://daleghent.com/misc/projects/ps3/PlateSolve3.msi

It looks like the a parsing error again with the new platesolve3.

Using Windows regional input settings for English world resolved the , decimal conflict issue for me with the older N.I.N.A version.
