Hi,

OK, I see the problem - I forgot to force the decimal separator to '.' rather than ',' when setting up the parameters. Because your PC is set up with ',' as the decimal separator, the parameter list to PS2 looks like it has too many entries.

I will fix for the next update - thanks for reporting!

cheers,

Robin

Hi Robin,
The modification is Ok, Platesolve2 is correctly launched. However, a new "funny" bug has arised : Platesolve2 got a solution, but SharpCap says that is a failure because ... it got a valid solution.
I have seen the platesolve2 window confirming the solving before it is force closed, even if we do not request to.

This does not happen when we launch the test in the parameter menu/platesolving.

Best regards
Jacques

Hi,

can you send me the log file from that run please - the error seems to indicate that SharpCap thought the result file created by PlateSolve2 didn't match the expected format (or that the first flag in the result file indicated failure). The PlateSolve2 result file will be included in the SharpCap log, so I can work from that to understand what went wrong.

thanks,

Robin

Hi,
here is the log file.
The failure is reported at the time code 22:29:38.279326, seems to be again the decimal point problem, but that time in the platesolve2 results (lines 329 and 330).
Best regards

Hi Jacques,

yes, it's an issue with the use of a ',' as the decimal separator :(

SharpCap expects to find 3 numbers separated by commas in the first line of the log, but because PlateSolve2 has used the regional settings from your computer for formatting numbers and also uses a ',' to separate the values, it looks like five numbers instead.

Code: Select all

Info 22:29:38.274443	#1 Plate solving log:
Info 22:29:38.274596	#1 5,19605741,0,15447957,1
Info 22:29:38.274736	#1 4,39311,189,08,-0,99972,-0,00009,140
Really it's a platesolve2 issue - it should either use something like a ';' to separate the values to avoid confusion or ignore the regional settings and use a '.' for a decimal separator. However, I don't suppose it will be updated, so I will try to workaround in SharpCap. I guess if I see four commas and five values in the first line then I can assume that the decimal separator is a ',' and every second comma should actually be a '.'

cheers,

Robin

Hi,
Don't worry, I forced windows to accept "decimal point" as seperator, even for french language  .
Platesolve2 is launched correctly and the return is accepted by SharpCap.
Thank you.
Best regards

Hi,

glad to hear that worked to get you going. I do have a fix now that will be in the next update, so you can go back to your proper language settings from next week!

cheers,

Robin
