I am putting together a 100% Svbony kit with the SV605CC camera. This camera is very finicky with APT but does seem to work with SharpCap. So, I am now learning how to use SharpCap – after all these years!

Two things I need help on are to flip/turn to image so it is right-side up. The other is to be able to center the image on the screen when using the SV605CC. The image anchored to the left-hand wall with that big grey column in the middle is giving me headaches. By this I mean moving that grey column to the left-hand wall so the image is centered.

Hi,

the image cannot be moved inside SharpCap - it is always shown at the top left. You can increase the zoom in level on the image (there's a zoom dropdown in the toolbar) so that the image fills the available space left to right, but then it will be too big in the vertical direction and you will have a scrollbar to scroll vertically.

The 'flip' of the image is handled for these cameras in the 'Preprocessing' controls group, where there is an option to flip the image horizontally, vertically or both. Some cameras also have an option to 'flip' the image in the camera, but that is usually best avoided if you intend to use dark and/or flat frames (the option in preprocessing does the flip operation after SharpCap has applied the dark/flat, so there is no problem with the dark/flat orientation not matching the orientation of the camera image).

cheers,

Robin
