Folder Monitor Camera & Darks/Flats

Hello Robin.

When using the Folder Monitor Camera, after selecting the fits file, and then browse for the Dark fits, the program is going to the C:\Users\roelb\Desktop\SharpCap Captures directory, instead of going to the last selected directory for the lights fit files.
And again when selecting the flat fits, the program go's again to the C:\Users\roelb\Desktop\SharpCap Captures directory, instead of pointing to the last chosen directory for the dark fits file.
It would be easier when the program should point to the last selected directory, so avoiding to again searching to the correct directory, which is in the neighbourhood of the last selected.
Excuse my extended explanation.

Thanks in advance looking to make things easier.

Hi Roel,

for the folder monitor camera, the dark and flat selection should go back to the last folder that you picked a dark/flat frame from (remembered separately, so it should return to the last dark folder when you try to open a dark and the last flat folder when you try to open a flat). For real cameras, SharpCap will first try to find a matching file in the 'dark library' that is created when you capture darks in SharpCap (basically they get saved organised by camera, exposure, gain, etc and then SharpCap will try to find the folder matching the current settings).

Making changes here is a bit tricky - what works for your workflow will probably be the wrong thing for some other users out there who get on fine with the current way, so that stops me from changing the defaults. Then you start thinking about adding an option, but you can quickly end up with a *lot* of options that way, so I am very cautious about doing that for small things...

Did you know that you can drag files from Windows explorer onto the 'Subtract Dark' and 'Apply Flat' controls in SharpCap? If you have the folder with all the files open, that might be an easier approach.

cheers,

Robin

Thanks Robin!
I wasn't aware of the "dropping function".
I gonna try it & I think that will do the job.
