Plate soolve by Sharpcap to

My telescope system is not an GOTO-equatorial mount.
I use the scale to move the coordinate difference between the results of plate solve by Sharpcap and target.
To take things a little further, I tried to reflect the results of plate solve by Sharpcap in Stellarium.
It works up to plate solve, but an error occurs when it is reflected in Stellarium.
I have attached the error message Sharpcap and the settings screens for each software.Image

Hi,

unfortunately it looks like the screenshots showing the error didn't get attached properly - it's probably best to have another go at uploading those so we can see the error message and hopefully advise on what the underlying problem might be.

thanks,

Robin

sorry. I accidentally uploaded it while I was entering it.

I tried again last night, same result:

P.S.

It was successful the first time, but the next day, when I tried to check the procedure, I couldn't do it.
Send the attachment.

Hi,

thanks for getting the screenshots working :) Fortunately it makes it fairly easy to tell what the problem is.

You are using the 'Telescope Simulator' mount, and that will not accept SharpCap sending a new set of RA/Dec co-ordinates to it via the 'Sync' command because it is not in tracking mode. This makes sense, because it is trying to simulate a real GOTO equatorial mount, which only has a consistent set of RA/Dec co-ordinates when it is tracking at sidereal speed.

The fix is simple - before trying to do the plate solving, press the 'Tracking' button in SharpCap - that will put the mount into sidereal tracking mode (the picture to the right of the tracking button will change from a '?' to a star to indicate the tracking is at the sidereal rate). Once this is done, you should be able to use the plate solving without any error.

Hope this helps,

Robin

Thank you Robin.

I'll try your method tonight if it's sunny.
I will report the results later.

Thank you Robin.

I checked this tonight and the problem is completely resolved.
Thanks so much.
