I very rarely impulse buy but could not say no to an Askar 30mm APO Reflector at 50% off.
I have a T Ring. Do I need to d/load any driver for this and can you provide a link please?
I'm hoping just a dslr and the new lens may be interesting.
I'm also hoping it can attach to my dslr with no support as it's so light.

Hi Dave,

from a hardware point of view, a canon to T adaptor would usually be what you need to connect the camera physically to the telescope (and maybe another adaptor to get you the T thread if the telescope doesn't have one built in, but they usually do).

From the software point of view, SharpCap does not directly support DSLR cameras, so you will need to investigate using the 'ASCOM Driver for DSLR Cameras' which can get this working for you. I will warn you that some people find this hard to get working properly, while others seem to have good success with it - I think there are so many different models that it may be difficult to make the driver work nicely with all of them. There are separate threads on CloudyNights about this driver where you can look for hints, support, etc.
