Loading Darks and Flats on start up

I recently got trapped into trying to remove contamination from my sensor that turned out to be due to a flat (with previous contamination) being applied. I think that this due to having the "Automatically Restore Camera Settings" option being checked. After finding that the "lint" resisted all attempts to remove it and wondering why it was light, not dark, I eventually thought to check the Preprocessing Group and saw instantly what the problem was :D.

Perhaps there could be specific provision in Settings to define which Preprocessing settings are persisted between sessions. Another option could be a change in colour in the title bar of the Preprocessing Group if any of the preprocessing options are active.

Hi,

yes, that's a tricky one, because the 'right' answer for the ones to preserve depends on personal preferences and how you tend to use the application. A tickbox list of what to restore seems excessive, but a highlight to indicate that pre-processing is active seems like a good idea. I have also been thinking about having a master on/off switch for pre-processing too, which would be a nice touch as you could turn them on/off without losing your settings.

cheers,

Robin

I agree that adding even more settings, that could clash with other settings, might not be such a good idea. I would be happy with some sort of indication (colour change?) in the Preprocessing Group title bar. A master switch to disable/enable Preprocessing options would be useful too.

It's very easy to fail to notice that Preproccesing is active and anything that indicates the fact would helpful.

I notice that the group header colour change was implemented in the next release. it was instantly very useful, thank you. I was going to suggest something similar for the Display Histogram Group but I see that it is already implemented.

Hi,

yes, I've been enjoying that new feature too and finding it is very helpful. The display histogram has caught me out a few times in the past too, so that was an obvious target for the same idea :)

cheers,

Robin
