veTEC 533 C Color

#1

Post by Henk »

Hi
I have a veTEC 533 C Color camera.
It is on my desk with a dark cap on.
If I connect to my camera and choose the ATR533C, the image is all white on a 20 ms exposure. Whatever I do in the settings this will not change. In the color space I have 5 options.

If I change the camera to Ascom OmegonPro The image works fine but now I have in the color space only 1 option

In other software ATR533 works fine and also the ASCOM.

My problem: I need the options in the color space

Best regards

Henk

Hi Henk,

the first thing to check is that you are using the latest version of SharpCap 4.1 for your testing (4.1.13621, from our downloads page). SharpCap talks to this camera via the ToupTek SDK, and there have been regular updates to this, so an update if you are on an older version might be all you need.

Beyond that, try opening the camera with <CTRL> pressed to reset all camera controls to default, just in case something is affecting the image. Also check that the display stretch is reset to default and you don't have the button to invert the image in the mini histogram area pushed! Keep an eye on the frame counter at the bottom left and check that it is going up at about the right rate (20fps or so for 50ms exposure).

If you are using the ASCOM driver instead, the choice of colour space is handled by the setup window for the ASCOM driver, not directly by SharpCap. There may be settings that if you change them in that window will cause the SharpCap colour space to change. If you have the SharpCap colour space showing as RAW16 then you are probably OK without making that sort of change.

Hope this helps,

Robin
