Hello,
I want to make a pi-finder type thing on a manual scope.
i.e: attach a guiding scope to my 400mm Dobson, and, on my PC, display a skymap with the current scope pointing location.
I can use a "virtual ascom mount" to simulate a mount and have stellarium show where this scope is pointing...
The only problem left to solve is the "take picture, plate solve and sync" part of the equation (the hard part really!)
Sharpcap is great at doing this, but is there a way to have it do it continuously?
Sequencer maybe? What would the script be?
Thanks,
Cyrille
Is there a "continious plate solve and resync" feature?

Hi Cyrille,
actually, the 'PushTo' assistant tool can pretty much do that. Of course it's designed to help you find a target and get to it by manually moving the telescope, but it tries to solve each frame, shows the co-ordinates and can optionally update the position of an ASCOM mount driver. I'm not sure if there is any downside to leaving it active while trying to do other things, but it is worth trying.
cheers,
Robin
