No Stars - Few Stars 4.1.13343.0

Starting with version 4.1.13343.0, when trying to conduct Focus Assistant>Muti-Star FWHM Measurement I get a very consistent No Stars\Few Stars error and therefore no ability to conduct an autofocus. Occasionally I will see a flash of a very high number of stars (like 61 or some other high number) and then almost immediately back to no stars selected and No Stars error. I am proficient in getting the correct number of stars visible in the past but not with this version. To be clear the camera is actually revealing many stars but SC is refusing to acknowledge those stars exist.

Settings (Used to work but not with this Version):
Suppress Hot Pixels: Yes
Use Display Stretch: Yes
Sensitivity: 96
Max Brightness: 95
Noise Reduction: tried 0 through 3
Show: Average Score
Average Over: tried 1 or 5
Ignore when moving: Yes
Too many Gain/Exposure variations to list. Again I have become proficient in getting it work in the past...

Hi,

there is a change between 13332 and 13343 that might be relevant to this, but it's in an external library I use (I updated to the newest version), so it's not a simple change to the SharpCap code that I can easily review.

Can you send me one or more saved images that are affected by this problem so that I can try to repro the issue? I do have automated tests that check star dection in dozens of images as part of the process of making a new version and those all continued to work as before with the new version of the library, so I am guessing it is something subtle with a particulare set of circumstances.

cheers,

Robin

I will be happy to send you whatever you need. Are you asking me to get into the focus assistant and Save as Displayed or save as *.FIT or ...

Hi Randall,

best thing to do is to get to the point where you are having the problem and then press the 'Snapshot' button to save the image to FIT (not save as seen - that gets the image with the stretch in, rather than the raw image).

cheers,

Robin

The weather and my schedule finally cooperated last night and I had no problems getting enough stars. I do not know if subsequent updates took care of it or... Either way all is good with star counts.
