Different errors from one day to the next

Hi, I'm aligning with the polar lens using an LX200 with a 1570 focal reducer. I finally got it right, but I noticed a problem. On the 8th, after aligning the mount, I had a 57" error. But last night, on the 9th, without moving the camera, the cables fixed, and without tension, I got an error of almost 26'. What could be the probable cause?
With that focal length, what would be an acceptable error for guiding? Thank you, and best regards to everyone.

Hi,

I think with this situation, the first thing I would try would be to repeat the alignment straight after the first alignment to see if the error is there straight away. Perhaps also repeat at the end of the session that night too. If the error is there straight away then the next troubleshooting step would be to look for things that might be flexing/moving as the mount is rotated. If the immediate re-run of alignment gives matching results, but then the alignment is out later in that evening, or fine later that evening but out a day or so later, then most likely something is happening to move the mount over time after the alignment is done.

cheers,

Robin
