Hi Robin...
Just to let you know, the FWHM filter does NOT catch the first two or three exposures if they are outside the minimum threshold setting. Then it starts doing it after three or so images... This JUST started...
any thoughts?

Re: FWHM filter bug
Hi Marc,
Take a look at this post from Robin. The behaviour is by design.

Re: FWHM filter bug
Thanks Pete...
I tried resetting the stack when the first frame came in with elliptical stars but it ignored that first frame too... If you reset the stack shouldnt it remember that the FWHM filter had already passed one or two frames?

Yes, I see the same. If you clear the stack then you still get the 2 frame cushion of ignoring the FWHM filter.
I find it really useful, as you can see what is going on with the image to cause the FWHM filter to kick in. Rather than just seeing a blank screen and a red bar. Personally, I prefer the consistency of the rule allowing two frames grace for FWHM on live stacking start and clear. Just my thoughts, your way could be better
Have fun.

Re: FWHM filter bug
Hi,
the FWHM filter definitely only activates when there are at least 2 frames in the stack, so it shouldn't be capable of blocking the first frame (or the second). The brightness filter is the same, so I can't think of a good reason why the first frame would be ignored after a reset (unless the timing was tight and the reset was still in progress when the 'first' frame arrived from the camera). If it happens again, look in the log tab on the right of the live stacking tabs - that might show something that will help explain what is going on.
thanks,
Robin
