Dear All

I am new to using SharpCap and just realized the possibilities of the software
I want to connect my AZGTi to Sharpcap but whatever I do there is alwasy an error Message
Thirst things first
I installed SynScan Pro and the Ascom Driver from the Skywatcher Website
There Is no Problem of Conecting to the Mount eiter with WIFI or EQMOD Cable via SynScan APP on the Laptop, so it seems therfe is no trouble what so ever with the Laptop or the Mount

But when I try to activate the SynScanAPP driver there is an error
"Retrieving the COM class factory for Component with CLSID {9007CF18-AF6A-AA1B-AEEC0C350F94} failed due to the following erroer:80070002 The System could not find the file (0x80070002)
/Error Code:0x80070002)
programm (I was either connected per WIFI or Cable to the Mount)
So I restarted my PC and did not start the synscan app connected per Wifi or Cable to the Mount and tried SharpCap , same error
Then I restarted again, connected via Mobile SynScanApp and then connected the PC per Wifi or Cable to the Mount and SharpCap produced the same error

Hi Sascha,

given that error code, the most likely problem is that the code (DLL file) that provides the Synscan ASCOM driver for your mount isn't present on disc at the location where it should be, so that when Windows tries to load it up after SharpCap requests it, you get a 'file not found' error.

The first step is probably to uninstall and then reinstall the ASCOM driver for the Synscan app (might be the whole synscan app that needs reinstalling if it contains the ASCOM driver). Also check that you have the very latest version of the ASCOM platform installed, as old versions can sometimes lead to weird errors when used with the latest SharpCap.

If those reinstalls/updates don't help, try using the 32 bit version of SharpCap rather than the 64-bit one - that can sometimes help, and if it does you can go back to the 64 bit SharpCap and configure it to use the ASCOM driver for the Skywatcher mount *via* the ASCOM device hub telescope driver - that is usually a workaround for mount related problems in 64-bit that don't show up in 32-bit.

cheers,

Robin
