Is there a way to "solve" and sync, but not recenter the scope

Hello,

When setting up the telescope, I need to do a first astrometry, but, at this point in time, I have to do a snapshot/solve using ASPS, which is an anoying process..

I know of the "tools/solve and resync", but after finding where it is, it moves the telescope.. Is there a way to NOT move the scope after the solve/sync?

Thanks,
Cyrille

Hi Cyrille,

there are two ways to get this to happen

1) You can adjust the 'After solving... ' action in the Plate Solve settings to 'Sync mount only'. This will work, but you will then need to change it back to get solve/sync back to normal, so possibly not the right option

2) You can create a short sequence with the step 'Plate solve a single frame and synce the mount only' in it. Save this as a .SCS (SharpCap Sequencer) file using the 'Save As' button, then you can run it from 'Sequencer' menu, 'Run...'. Once you have used 'Run...' once to load/run the sequence, it will appear in the 'Sequencer' -> 'Run Recent' list for easier access.

Hope this helps,

Robin

Thanks!

I will probably change to sync only on the "main menu" item, and create a solve/sync and recenter as a script as this matches my priorities...
