Hi there,
I am new to Sharpcap so please bear with me. When I start up Sharpcap and select my camera, QHY 5III-585c I get the error of can't connect to my Q-Focuser. Sharpcap will connect to my PMC Eight Mount and the camera but not the focuser. Ascom will connect the focuser in Device Hub as will APT.
Reloaded the Drivers and still not helping.
Could you point me in a direction to start to solve this issue. I am sure it is a setting somewhere.
Also I am a bit of lost cause on computers, I can normally find out what is wrong but it takes me some time.
Thanks,
Edward

Re: Q-Focuser not connecting
Hi,
there are a few things you can try...
1) Make sure that you have the latest versions of the ASCOM driver for the Q-Focuser installed, and also the latest version of the ASCOM Platform
2) Uninstall and then reinstall the Q-Focuser driver - sometimes the configuration information can get damaged and cause this sort of thing
3) Try using the 32-bit version of SharpCap - maybe the Q-Focuser driver only works in 32 bit applications, so cannot be loaded into the default, 64-bit version of SharpCap
4) Try accessing the Q-Focuser via the ASCOM device hub (setup the Focuser in SharpCap to be 'ASCOM Device Hub') - this will also typically be a valid workaround for the 32/64 bit problem in (3)
If none of that helps, please post exact details of any error message that is shown (perhaps a screenshot), or even better the SharpCap log captured after seeing the error, which will show even more detail of what may be going wrong.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Q-Focuser not connecting
Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes it was the Qhy Driver for the focuser. I have the Fine tunning model and purchased it when it first came out. Looking at everything yesterday and the lightbulb in my head turned on. Checked the website and yes my driver was first addition. Downloaded latest and Sharpcap works fine.
Sorry to bother you on Christmas, honestly forgot, just wanted to play with my new toys.
Edward.
