touptek ts2600 fullwell

Hello, I have a current version of Sharpcap pro. How can I activate fullwell mode? In version 12529 I could at least choose between LCG and HCG. Now neither works (anymore). The only solution I found is to use the ascom drivers. But I don't think that's ideal. The original touptek driver works wonderfully in NINA. I would like to do the sensor analysis. Is there something I'm missing? CS Katerschnorr

Hi,

current versions of SharpCap auto switch the LCG/HCG mode for you behind the scenes as you change the gain, switching to HCG as soon as it is possible and beneficial. That means that for the IMX571 camera, the behaviour is as follows:

Gain 100-299 - camera runs in LCG mode, using gain values 100 to 299
Gain 300 and above - camera runs in HCG mode (which provides a gain boost of 3x), and uses gain values starting from 100 and working up - the gain shown in SharpCap will be 3x the gain sent to the camera to account for the extra gain boost of HCG mode

This means that you can access the high FWD of LCG mode by using low gains (100 to 299), and then automatically gain the benefit of the reduced read noise in HCG mode once you get to gain 300. This mirrors the operation of a number of other popular camera brands, and avoids SharpCap users needing to worry about what LCG and HCG are and which they should choose - most beginners would have no idea about this and likely choose at random.

thanks,

Robin
