Stabilization/Alignment greyed out in Planetary live stacking

Hi,

I have been enjoying planetary live stacking lately. However, I have not been able to use the options under the Stabilization/Alignment tab of the Live Planetary Stacking/Enhancement. The option "Stabilize to center" and "Track planet with camera ROI" are all greyed out, so I cannot check them. The "Track planet with Sharpcap selection area" is checked, and I cannot uncheck it. Is there something I should enable first, before being able to access those options? I was hoping this could solve my issue that the planet drifts of the ROI after a few minutes, when my polar alignment is not good enough. This doesn't work well for longer time lapses.

I use Sharpcap Pro v4.1 in 64 bits with an ASI 2600MC Pro.

Many thanks,

Charles

Hi Charles,

those boxes will be disabled if you have the 'Surface Align' option selected at the top of the Stabilization/Alignment area. If you switch from surface align to planet align then those should all become enabled.

Planet align will work if the whole of the disc of the target is in view, so for planets, full disc lunar and solar.

hope this helps,

Robin

Many thanks. Yes, I see that it works now. I will try this next time.
