ROI Centering and Selection

#1

Post by argator305 »

Hi All,

Two questions. I have a full frame sensor SXVR H35 and a C8, with the celestron OAG. Obviously the full frame is horribly lit on the outsides and blockage from filter drawer and oag prism. I want to use the ROI function. My question are two fold:

1) Is there a way to automatically center the ROI upon selection of resolution.

2) Is there a way to manually enter the resolution, not select from the prepopulated options.

Hi,

if you have an up-to-date version of SharpCap then the following two things should work for you:

1) SharpCap tries to keep the center of the current viewing area the same when changing ROI, so if you go from maximum resolution to your desired ROI then you should end up looking at an ROI in the center of the sensor.

2) If you look at the bottom of the list of possible ROI areas, there should be a 'Custom...' option - you can select that and then the values that you want (SharpCap may adjust the entered values slightly so that they are legitimate values given any restrictions the camera may have).

cheers,

Robin
