Hey all, I am getting spikes to the left of the peak when live stacking and have no idea what is causing them. Would anyone have an idea what could cause these? Using a 533 MC Pro.

probably image drift that's being caused by the mount not trackng perfectly. Have a look to see if one or two sides of the stacked image have started to show dark borders. When the image has drifted somewhat from the start of the stack, some parts of the stack will stop receiving new image data and will become darker. This shows up as the borders and can also show up in the histogram too with the sort of effects you are seeing.

Worth updating to the very latest SharpCap if you are on an older version - some time back I changed things so that the live stack histogram deliberately excludes the left/right/top/bottom few percent of the image to try to avoid this sort of thing happening.

Thank you for the reply. You were right, it was drift. I upgraded the mount from an old LX200 to a new EQ6R Pro and also upgraded to the latest version of SharpCap and now have almost perfect tracking and no longer see those peaks anymore.
