Hi Robin,

I just installed latest version and my camera would be seen under camera tab. After selecting camera I don’t get a picture. After a few seconds I get a message the camera stopped working. I reinstalled the older version I forget the version I know it was from 7/24/24. Now everything is fine.
Just thought you’d like to know.

George

Hi George,

thanks, there is one issue in the current version with the ASI cameras that might just be causing this - I have a fix and will be making another update available (probably at the start of next week).

cheers,

Robin

Thanks Robin,

I know this is a different subject but have you ever considered adding a planetarium program to sc?
I use one with sharpcap a total package would be awesome.

Really appreciate all your hard work

George

Hi George,

I have considered making an extra 'simulated' camera that would draw stars/deep sky targets from the catalog onto the camera image (which would be calculated to match the mount co-ordinates). It's not quite a planetarium, but it would be quite close... A full planetarium is probably a bit too much - and there are some really good, free, options out there like Cartes-du-Ciel, Stellarium and SkytechX

cheers,

Robin

Robin,

I’m a fan of cartes myself it’s not as pretty as other programs but gets the job done. Also it doesn’t ask a lot of my computer. If you get a chance could you send me a link to get lifetime subscription I lost the last one.

Thanks George

Hello Robin,

If you want to code a "Sky Simulator" ... OK, but you know that somebody else did it already ... => ASCOM Sky Simulator.

It is really working good. The setup has to be done correctly, but when it is done it works fine.

Regards,
Jean-Francois

Hi,

yep, ASCOM Sky Simulator is great and I use it a lot for testing, but it's a bit fiddly to get it set up just right, which has left me wondering if there is a place for a simulator within SharpCap that has more flexibility than the 'fixed image' test cameras... Maybe...

Lifetime licenses can be purchased via this page - https://store.astrosharp.co.uk/lifetimelicense (for those who already have at least one year's annual license).

cheers,

Robin
