Hello Everybody,
The Point Grey cameras it is said as supported, but I can not connect it. The SC doesn't see it.
May be it is not supported directly by SharpCap? And I should Choosing Between ASCOM and DirectShow approach?
...........................
BTW Are Spinnakers cameras expected to be supported in the nearest future?
Thank you.
Best regarsd,
Val

Hi,
Spinnaker cameras are not supported and there isn't any likelihood of this happening soon as I don't have one to work with. Non-spinnaker cameras should work fine, but you may need to install this installer too:
http://downloads.sharpcap.co.uk/downloa ... %20PreReqs
That installer adds some extra dlls that are used by certain brands of camera (including PGR I think) that are not installed by the main installer to avoid making it too big. Don't worry that the version says 2.10 - those things don't change very often.
If you still can't see the camera after running that installer, please post back.
cheers,
Robin

Ok, no problem - please can you post a log file - SharpCap should try to detect all cameras at startup, so just run SC3.1, then goto help->show log and copy all the text in the log and post it here. Hopefully somethign in the log to tell why the camera is not being detected.
cheers,
Robin

Ok, two things to try...
1) Unzip this dll and copy it into the SharpCap install directory - looks like it might be needed by the newer version of the PtGrey SDK I am using.
2) Check that the file
c:\windows\SysWOW64\msvcp140.dll
exists - it should have been installed by the second installer I pointed you at, but worth checking. If the file is missing then install the 'x86' Visual C++ redist from
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloa ... x?id=48145
thanks,
Robin

Hi Robin,
Thank you for your support.
I tried first thing and it works now!!

SC can select the camera.
Only one issue - the gamma adjustment option is not available. But I think it depends on FlyCapture SDK options...

Val

Ah, excellent. I will add that dll to the installer - it wasn't required in the previous version of the PGR software and I missed spotting it when I upgraded.
The gamma control is only available on these cameras in mono and RGB modes (not RAW modes), so maybe that is it?

Robin
