FPS & Refresh Rate Requirements
FPS & Refresh Rate Requirements
Hey would anybody know if using a Remote Desktop method to the mini PC that yields 60fps and 60Hz be sufficient for using sharpcap? I’m sure it’s fine for EAA (maybe not for focusing?) as the exposures are usually 10fps or higher but curious if this is insufficient for Planetary. Any insight would be great!

Re: FPS & Refresh Rate Requirements
Hi,
if you can hit 60fps then that will be fine - SharpCap usually limits the display update to roughly 30fps anyway. It's worth noting that you should test with real, changing images, since remote desktop copes a lot better with a stable image than it does with one updating at high speed. Noisy images in particular compress poorly and can cause remote desktop to slow down. You can use SharpCap's high speed test camera to simulate the situation (there is a control on the right to add noise, or you can make it replay an existing SER file).
cheers,
Robin
