I'm having a hell of a time connecting my camera to Sharpcap. Nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome

Which version of SharpCap are you using?
Also, could you describe what is happening?

Hi,

in general, DSLR cameras are not supported directly by SharpCap, so there are two ways to get images from them into SharpCap

* Use the ASCOM driver for DSLR cameras, which can work nicely for some, but is unreliable for others. There is a long thread on CloudyNights which is probably the best resource for this : https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/7076 ... ny/page-34

* Use a separate application to capture images from the DSLR into a folder on the PC and then use SharpCap's 'Folder Monitor' virtual camera to load those images as they appear, as if they had come from a camera.

Unfortunately, as mentioned elsewhere in the forums, we have made a decision to not add direct DSLR support to SharpCap, as the range of models (many of which require subtle special handling) is simply too large to be able to adequately develop, test and maintain such a solution.

thanks,

Robin
