Click to Recenter & PHD2 problems

Seems to me that clicking to recenter while PHD2 is running just causes the stars to move around a bit, then settle down at their original position.
Works better if I deactivate PHD2 before clicking to recenter.

Yes, I know they're mismatched.

Hi,

if PHD is guiding when you use click-to-recenter or another tool that makes small adjustments to position, it's possible that PHD will spot the movement of the guide star and try to put it back where it was originally in the guide camera, effectively undoing the movement of the mount. You should find it works OK if you stop guiding in PHD before moving the target and then resume guiding afterwards. While SharpCap has some features that interact with PHD2, currently it only monitors and controls PHD2 during live stacking and sequencer based captures, so it's not able to do this automatically for you.

I should also note that some recent updates to SharpCap 4.1 have had an issue with the click to recenter tool, meaning that it was moving to the wrong location in some circumstances. This is now fixed in the very latest update to SharpCap 4.1. I don't think that this is going to be the cause of your problem, since even with the issue, the mount was moving - just to the wrong place...

cheers,

Robin

Thanks Robin.

I'll create a post in the feature suggestions to disable PHD2 while executing click to point ;)
