Robin. downloaded Sharpcap 4.1.11711.0 on Windows 11. If I open any ZWO camera, I get a .dll error and it exits. I saw the other thread on QHY camera's but that didn't apply.
I can open the camera's using ZWO's own software and with ASCOM.
I have updated the ZWO camera drivers and ASCOM drivers and rebooted.
Disabled antivirus
Disabled GPU acceleration and restarted Sharpcap.
I will send a link to the dump via the contact form.

Re: Sharpcap 4.1 crashes opening any ZWO camera
Hi,
the dump file is tricky as it shows me what was happening at the moment the application died, but it's hard to work out how it got to that state. I can see from the dump that it looks like SharpCap was showing (or trying to show) the bug reporting window when it crashed. I've not yet seen any bug reports uplodaed for 4.1.11786, so I guess you either didn't get a chance to send the report or didn't choose to send it.
If you can send the report to me, that would be great (from the reporting dropdown, choose to send manually, then email the created zip file). If not, the SharpCap log from a crashing run (saved in the log file folder - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#The%20SharpCap%20Log) would also likely contain the information needed.
cheers,
Robin

Ok, I will send the link to the log file via the contact form.
The application crashes out before the bug report fully populates (and it goes with it).
All I did was launch SharpCap and then try to open a camera (ASI 183MC or ASI 120MM). Then it crashes.
FWIW, I can open the cameras in ZWO's software, ASCOM DeviceHub, and NINA. I don't know if that tells you anything or not. Oh, SharpCap crashed even if I tried to open the camera using the ASCOM DeviceHub.
Let me know if you need more info and I will try to gather it.

Re: Sharpcap 4.1 crashes opening any ZWO camera
Hi,
apologies for being slow in working this out - you had the bad luck to download and install version 4.1.11754 during the couple of hours it was available. I uploaded that version without realising that it was missing a DLL required to show certain parts of the UI (the mini histogram for instance).
Please update to any of the newer versions on the download page and the problem will go away.
cheers,
Robin

LoL Yay me! I saw the missing DDL on the thread from the user with a QHY camera but wasn't sure if it applied to my case. I will grab it and check this week-end.
Thanks Robin.
Thanks Robin.
