Hi all
I ran the sensor analysis on my MallinCam DS26CTEC camera and the results are in the photo. What would be the best gain to use per these results? Looking at read noise and full well depth, I would guess 300 or so?

Re: Reading the Sensor Analysis
Hi,
yes, 300 gain is a great starting point on these cameras as it takes advantage of the read noise reduction due to HCG mode. By using 300 gain you can get away with sub-exposures about 4x shorter than those needed at 100 gain, so your mount's guiding/tracking is not so critical.
Check out the SharpCap Pro smart histogram 'Brain' function for more exact calculations on optimal gain/exposure/black level based on measuring your sky brightness.
cheers,
Robin
